\r\n 桃浦中学多年来坚持“三人”育人课程，特别是在培育学生的核心素养方面做了许多探索。为了进一步培养学生对英语的兴趣，提高英语口语能力，提高他们学习的自信心；为了使我校的英语教学与国际文化相融合，增强学生跨文化学习的能力，提升孩子的学习生活品质，我校开设了外教口语课程——WAP英语课程。 \r\n

\r\n 让我们先来看看这位幽默风趣的外教老师－－Cary Huntington的介绍吧 \r\n

\r\n 2009年8月 获伊利诺伊卫斯理大学国际研究学士：亚洲研究 \r\n

\r\n 2009年5月—12月 北京大学 进修克服语言和文化障碍 \r\n

\r\n

\r\n 他带领的教研团队研发了美国原版教材《Reading Wonders》，并于今年9月12日正式在中国上海开班授课，其自如运用美式授课方式，融会贯通的教学手法，既让孩子们体味原汁原味的美国课堂，又令孩子们享受学习的乐趣，深受孩子们的喜爱和家长的信任。无论对外教与中教间的中西方跨文化理解还是各类课程本身的授课技巧，各年段学生的学习心理，均有精准的把握，可谓不可多得的非常优秀的外教老师。 \r\n

\r\n 课堂掠影 \r\n

\r\n 九月份开学以来，Cary已在我校预备年级上过三次口语课。在课堂上经常看到Cary与学生互动的场景，他喜欢鼓励学生举手发言，只要学生开口说话，都能得到与他亲密接触的小奖励——击掌，Woohoo(呜呼……)学生总是对Cary这种美式互动兴致勃勃…… \r\n

\r\n  Cary还安排学生进行小组活动，进行口语练习。要求学生在固定的时间完成信息交流任务，用英语询问同班同学一些问题。学生正进行火热朝天的交流…… \r\n

\r\n 来自预备学生的心声 \r\n

\r\n

\r\n Cary善用身体语言，使教室气氛活跃。今天是我们的第一节外教口语课，上课后，Cary并不像之前大部分老师做自我介绍一样，而是和我们玩了一个游戏，通过游戏让大家猜他的名字，瞬间激起了大家的学习兴趣。他叫Cary,当被问到多大年龄时，班里有淘气的孩子说他四十岁，可把Cary气坏了，只见他双手环抱于胸前，嘴巴嘟得老高，还皱着个眉头，神情相当可爱。一堂课下来，他的嘴一直没闲着。这个就不说了，老师就是凭嘴吃饭的，但是他的手也跟嘴一样，忙得不亦乐乎，一会打着圈，一会向外伸展，还总是在不经意的时候吓我们一跳。时间似乎过得很快，平时上课老觉得时间怎么那么久呢。我今天总算亲身感受到这一差别了：中国老师比较含蓄严肃，不善于和学生做互动交流，所以让我们觉得既枯燥又乏味。而外国老师不同了，他们看中的是学生的思考能力和学习能力，他们在课堂上是与学生平等的，但这并不意味着我们不尊重他们。上Cary的课总是觉得精神十足，他总能想方设法吸引你的注意，让我们保持旺盛的精力。我喜欢外教课，真想天天都能见到Cary…… \r\n

\r\n 来自英语教师杨老师的心声 \r\n

\r\n 据了解，同学们普遍的反映是，他们一方面肯定了外教口语课的作用：能够在一定程度上激发他们学习英语的兴趣，尽管有时候外教语速过快，使用的词汇难度较高，出现不容易理解的问题，但是学生还是愿意去听的，并且有学生表示为了能够听懂老外讲话，以后一定要多积累词汇，提高自己的英语水平；另一方面，有些学生也提出了一些自己的想法，比如希望Cary上课语速放慢，词汇再简单一些，课堂上安排一些role-play之类的表演活动，或者教他们学一些有动作手势的歌曲，多介绍一些欧美文化知识等等。 \r\n

\r\n

\r\n 对于老师而言，通过听外教上课，自己也有一定的思考，在以后的授课过程中，注意吸取老外授课的优点，多使用肢体语言、肢体动作，涉及会话活动，激发学生的参与兴趣，有兴趣才能学的好。同时，鉴于学生的背景文化知识较为薄弱，在以后的教学过程中，也适当拓展一些英语国家的背景文化知识，丰富学生词汇，助力学生发展。 \r\n

\r\n 最后，我们一起来听听Cary对于教学的一些感悟吧 \r\n

\r\n When I came to China, I had no idea what to expect. I began teaching English to young children at a local kindergarten. After a few short weeks, I realized how much I really enjoyed my time with them. Many of my students had already learned a little English. It was sometimes difficult to know what they learned from me and what they learned from other teachers. However, some students had never learned any English before. I very clearly remember one of these students. His name was Jerry, and he always cried at the beginning of class. I tried very hard to make my lessons fun and entertaining to attract students to want to learn more. After one month, Jerry was able to have simple conversations with me. It was this student who helped me to see how rewarding it was to be a teacher. More than seven years later, I’m still enjoying my job. I've taught at roughly thirty different schools to students three years old to sixteen years old. Most of my students would describe me as fun and entertaining. I teach with the philosophy of; it is interesting, students will want to pay attention and learn. So, while I'm teaching a lesson, students in other classrooms will probably hear my loud voice carry into their classrooms. They will probably hear my students singing songs. I hope they will know, learning English can be an enjoyable experience. This year brings me new opportunities to teach new students. I look forward to more smiles from students, and new memories to go with all the wonderful memories I already have. I can't wait to watch the students feel more confident and willing to practice their English and improve together. \r\n
